Sharon White Becomes The First Woman To Win A US Equestrian Open Final
Sharon White & Claus 63 won the $200,000 US Equestrian Open of Eventing Final at Morven Park on 30.8. Sharon is the first woman to win a US Equestrian Open Final across all three disciplines: eventing, jumping and dressage. It is also her first long-format four-star win in 18 years.

They started on 26.0, second in the dressage. Across country they jumped clear and added 4.8 time penalties to sit third, 2.2 off the lead. On Sunday they jumped clear inside the time. The two pairs above them could not do the same.
Will Coleman & Off The Record led overnight on their dressage score. Two rails dropped them to second. Isabelle Bosley & Conner, 0.3 off the lead after cross-country, slipped out of the top three.
Morven had not been kind to this pair. Eliminated in 2021. Eliminated again in 2022, after leading the dressage. Last year they were second after dressage on 25.2, then picked up 20 penalties across country and finished 10th.
This was their first cross-country jumping clear at Morven, at the fourth attempt. Sharon's last long-format four-star win came at Bromont in June 2008 with The King's Spirit. Claus 63 is a 14-year-old Holsteiner by Catoo, owned by Sharon herself.
Will finishes second at Morven for the second year running. Last year one rail cost him the title by 0.4. This year Off The Record, now 17, was one of only two horses inside the cross-country time. Two rails on Sunday left him on 36.6.
Mia Farley & Invictus took third on 39.8, clear in the show jumping to finish on their cross-country score. Karen O'Connor bred the 10-year-old in Middleburg, Virginia. He won the Tryon CCI4*-L in May, and this is his fifth podium from five runs in 2026.
Eighteen years since Bromont. Four trips to Morven. One Final.
